DH tough and XC light, the Traverse SL 35 is our handlebar premiere, and capitalizes on our decades of carbon fiber experience to deliver precise control and exceptional comfort, along with class leading strength to weight performance. Handlebars have grown wider in recent years, and this has presented some interesting challenges. Because bars are wider, leverage stress exerted at the stem has risen dramatically. The Traverse SL features a 35mm diameter at the stem clamp; this increases strength in this crucial zone, while also dissipating the bar clamp load across a larger surface area. More secure clamping, and a stronger handlebar - these are good things. Meanwhile, our extensive experience with carbon fiber allows us to ensure maximum strength at the clamp and then tailor the carbon fiber layup to providing damping at the bar-ends, resulting in a more comfortable, less fatiguing ride. Fast, Light, and Agile. SQlab ergonomics experts are not only quite impressive in just ergonomics, but also very well versed in high-tech, material science and carbon manufacturing. Ergonomics: With an aggressive sitting position and a handlebar width from 740mm and under 9° backsweep, the wrists are always overstretched. SQlab currently has the monopoly for aggressive MTB handlebars. Damping: The 311 FL-X has been developed with regard to flex behavior. In an elaborate study, we were able to prove that almost all high-quality handlebars have damping characteristics between 0% and 15%, depending on the intensity. The 311 FL-X is between 20% and 30%. The higher flex has no disadvantages in steering precision. The steering forces are clearly below the vertical forces. Stability: SQlab is one of only two manufacturers to remain in the big bike magazine break test without damage. - Weight: At 200g, the handlebar is one of the lightest and most stable on the market. - Area of use: MTB Race - The 12° backsweep with its short reach provides a natural transition from the lower arm to the hand when in a more upright riding position thus protecting the wrist from the extreme strain - The 15mm or 30mm Rise (handlebar height) allows an individual adjustment of the sitting position. - This bar utilizes a 31.8mm clamping area. A casual riding handlebar designed so the grips flare out a bit. 23.8mm (road-size) bars accept standard inverse brake levers, standard bar-end shifters, and 23.8mm city brake levers. In short, anything made for road bars fits. They do not accept MTB levers or shifters
